Retail Staff
For our Retail yard at O'Flaherty's Landscaping, we look for people that are willing to work outdoors from April to December and are willing to learn quickly and take on the tasks. We bag dirt, rock, mulch and screenings all day long. Hundreds of them! Load cars and trucks, water plants, take care of the greenhouse, cut grass and keep the place looking top tier. We get dirty. We sell interlocking, bulk materials and plants. We help customers plan thier outdoor spaces. Each member of staff is expected to have the ability to do most of the jobs so we all help each other - as a team, but don't worry - we train you!

Generally our work hours are from 730am-830pm with shifts and ajustments as the season changes. 4 hour up to 12 hour shifts are possible and we are flexible!

DRIVERS: DZ Licence and Landscaping Crew Hand
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking DRIVER with a valid DZ licence (Boom Truck experience - an asset) to join our landscaping and construction team on a permanent, seasonal full-time basis. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality landscape construction materials to jobsites, homeowners, and our retail yard, as well as handling pickups from suppliers.
The successful candidate will ensure that materials are transported and installed efficiently, safely, and to precise specifications, supporting the smooth execution of our projects.
The ideal candidate will be required to assist in landscape construction projects, including the installation of interlock, planting, and other manual labour tasks as needed to support the crew and complete high-quality outdoor builds.
Although experience in landscaping would be ideal, a willingness to learn the tools of the trade and work alongside our diverse crew is an absolute must for this role.

Responsibilities

Safely operate vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.

Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.

Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
-
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
-
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.

Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including basic automotive repairs as needed.
-
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
-
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
Requirements

Valid DZ driver's license with a clear CVOR driving record

Own transportation to and from head office in Whitby, Ontario
-
Reliable Cell Phone

Ability to load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites, residential and commercial properties.

Operate and licensed for Boom Truck, Roll Off Truck and other delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
-
Operate "Bobcat" skid steer equiptment or equivilant
-
Move and place stone, install sod, planting, and assist with other landscape features as required
-
Operate basic construction tools and equipment safely and effectively
-
Assist in drilling and cutting rock on construction sites
-
Level earth to fine grade specifications
-
Remove rubble and other debris to maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment
-
Tend or feed machines and equipment used in construction
-
Direct traffic at or near construction sites in accordance with safety procedures
-
Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople to complete tasks accurately
-
Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
-
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
-
Physical stamina for loading/unloading freight such as interlocking, soils, stone and yard waste.
-
Fluent in English for both verbal and written is required, additional languages would be a plus!
Forman / Crew members: Experience and Labour
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking crew members that have knowledge and expereince in Landscaping or similar fields of work. You may start out as a labourer and if your skills match up on the jobsite, becoming a team lead could be yours.

The ideal candidate will be required to assist in landscape construction projects, including the installation of interlock, planting, and other manual labour tasks as needed to support the crew and complete high-quality outdoor builds.
Although experience in landscaping would be ideal, a willingness to learn the tools of the trade and work alongside our diverse crew is an absolute must for this role and you must be physically able to handle the workload in all weather and temperature conditions.

At times the work is slow and other times it is fast paced and on strict deadlines. You must be able to keep up, wait, pitch in and follow direction. If you don't have knowledge of equiptment or tools, we are more than happy to train on site!​
