Important Sod Care Notice
Sod should be installed on the day of purchase. Leaving sod rolled up—especially in warm weather or without water—can quickly affect its quality.

To ensure the best results, lay your sod promptly and keep it moist in cool shaded area until installation.

** WATERING **

  • Initial Watering: After installation, give your lawn a deep soak. Saturate the sod thoroughly until the topsoil underneath is well watered and adjust according to the rain in the forecast and the temperature.

  • Watering Schedule:

    • Week 1: Water daily, a good soaking of water.

    • Week 2: Water every other day, continuing to water deeply.

    • Always adjust watering based on temperature, sun exposure, and rainfall.

Please Note: Sod is a final sale item, no refunds or returns are accepted.

Instalation and care of your new sod

1. Clear the Area
Remove all rocks, debris, weeds, and any existing grass or plant material from the site.

2. Prepare the Soil

Till the soil to a depth of approximately 5 inches, then add 4–6 inches of quality screened topsoil. Grade and smooth the surface to create an even base for the sod.

3. Lay the Sod

Start along the longest straight edge of your site.

Lay sod pieces tightly together—butt edges and ends without stretching, gaps, or overlaps. Stagger joints in a brick-like pattern for a seamless look.

4. Finishing Touches

Use a sharp knife or box cutter to trim and shape as needed. Minimize walking on freshly laid sod to avoid dips, tears, or shifting. If you can, use a roller to press the sod down—this helps the roots make contact with the soil and encourages strong growth.
